Bio

Nathanaël

Nathanaël Lécaudé has over ten years of experience in the design and production of interactive artistic devices. Combining his musical and video production skills with programming and electronics (which he approaches as art forms in their own right), he focuses on developing expressive tools in service of larger stories.

For the stage, he designed the video production for Valises by the company Blitz d’Axes, recipient of a “cochon d’or” award for outstanding achievement. He worked on projections and an interactive sound environment with choreographer Rosalie Famelart for the Tesseract project. In 2013, he received a grant from the Canada Council for the Arts for the multidisciplinary project Murmuration.

He has also designed and implemented interactive devices for atypical contexts (interactive rolling carts for the Tous collective, interactive kiosks for the Canadian Railway Museum). A recognized programmer and technician, he has collaborated on the development of many creative tools (Max Toolbox for Max/MSP, TamTam music suite for One Laptop Per Child, PyMT touch tracking library). He also founded the creative collective Studio Imaginaire in 2000, where he builds interactive and smart objects (interactive table, smart multicolored lamps).
